Michael P. Burakoff, Esq. is “of counsel” to the law firm and concentrates his practice in personal injury litigation and insurance coverage. He brings almost forty years of experience. Since 1976, Michael has been representing clients who have been injured in a variety of unfortunate accidents, including car, truck, premises, defective product, construction site, and work-related accidents. He also represents clients involved in disputed claims with insurance companies that are operating in bad faith, including claims involving insurance coverage denial.
Mr. Burakoff is a member of the New Jersey Association of Justice (formerly known as the New Jersey Trial Lawyer’s Association), is a former member of the Board of Directors of the Workplace Injury Litigation Group, and is a member of both the New Jersey Bar Association and Morris County Bar Association.
Mr. Burakoff has recovered millions of dollars on behalf of accident victims. Representative former clients include a construction worker who recovered $3.6 million as a result of injuries sustained when falling from a scaffold; a pedestrian who recovered $1.6 million as a result of injuries sustained after being struck by an automobile; a sanitation worker who recovered over $1 million for injuries sustained after being hit by a truck; and recovery of almost $1 million for someone injured as a passenger in an automobile.
Mr. Burakoff’s experience resulted in him being chosen to serve as an arbitrator for the Superior Court of New Jersey Automobile and Personal Injury Arbitration Program. He also serves as an arbitrator in uninsured/underinsured motorist claims. Mr. Burakoff has also served as co-counsel for Essex County, Union County, and twelve New Jersey municipalities to represent their interests in mass tort litigation.
Mr. Burakoff is admitted to practice law in the United States Supreme Court, New Jersey state courts, the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey, and the United States District Court for both the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York.
